It's been over a month now since I sent off this jumper to be repaired by a bunch of amazing menders all over the UK. So far 5 people out of 25 have donated to MAP to help raise money for those in need in Palestine, and added their repairs to the jumper and I wanted to update you all on the progress.
I've actually found it quite emotional to see these mends take shape, seeing the personality and creative touch that every pair of hands has added. I know we all find solace in the act of mending, and I hope that this project will help everyone involved to channel their feelings about such a horrifying genocide into something that can make such a statement whilst raising money to help. The long term reality of this project almost stopped me from starting it. I naively hope every day that there is an end in sight, but I think perhaps the sad reality of this ongoing genocide is even more reason to keep projects like this going; to make sure that we can keep stepping up to donate, spread awareness and demand a ceasefire now.
Endless thanks to Donna, Blythe, Lizzie, Charlotte and Grace for their time and effort into bringing this project to life so far 🖤
I'll be back for update 2.0 when we hit mender no.10!
