I ran two introductions to sashiko repair workshops at the Shoreditch branch of Toast a few weeks ago and wanted to share some photos of the amazing samplers that everyone worked on. I always love to see how people connect differently to different stitches and techniques and the ways in which we all approach colours and pattern matching in different ways.
If you're local to the Shoreditch branch then pop in now before the 13th October to see a capsule collection of Toast garments that have been repaired using different mending techniques; they are all beautiful!
I particularly love the sashiko crosses on this black and white gingham fabric!
I’m in the process of setting up a few online workshops for the next few months which will either be on weekday evenings or weekend mornings. I’ll send out a newsletter when I launch the dates so make sure you’re signed up to receive those. Also, feel free to send me a message if you have a preference on times/dates - I’m looking forward to getting back into the swing of a virtual set up!
