darning needles for visible mending

If you're new to the world of darning then finding the right needles can be tricky. Here are the ones I use on a daily basis - most of which you can find in my shop.

tapestry darning needles

🪡 Tapestry darning needles: My absolute go to. The wide eye and blunt tip makes them great for a huge variety of threads/fabrics with minimal snagging.

fine cotton darning needles
🪡 Fine cotton darning needles: Great for darning t-shirts and fine cotton socks.

ball tipped darning needles
🪡 Ball tipped darning needles: Tons of different sizes to match your thread/fabric thickness and the ball tip helps to minimise snags as you darn.

bent tip darning needle
🪡 Bent tip tapestry darning needle: Extra chunky and the bent tip makes weaving over and under your warp threads a breeze.
If you'd like to learn more about how to use these needles and get mending your favourite well worn clothes, you can join me over on Patreon for tutorials and videos all about mending, or buy my book Well Worn for garment led chapters on the best mending techniques for different areas of damage.
