The 23rd May marked one year since Well Worn was publishes, and I celebrated by hosting an all day visible mending workshop here in Frome.
It was such an amazing day and I'll share more photos soon, but for now I wanted to share a few of the mending projects that people worked on throughout the day and have since gone on to finish at home.
The creativity in these mends and photos is incredible and it's filled me with joy to see everyone who came along giving their well worn garments these intentional, colourful repairs.
There was a completely mixed group in terms of ability; some people had spent a lot of time sewing already whereas for others it was a completely new experience. The one thing everyone had in common were the stories that went along with the garments brought along. Despite all of the rips, holes and stains, these garments had been stored and saved ready to be mended and that is always such a joy for me to see.
As Orsola De Castro says, loved clothes last.
