Mending t-shirt moth holes | Online workshop | Monday 17th February | 6pm - 7.30pm

The details:

This 1.5 hour live workshop will show you how to get started with mending those pesky moth holes on t-shirts (or any stretchy fabric eg. leggings). I will be on hand to answer any questions you have about the process as we mend along together. Please note I am based in the UK so times listed are shown in UK GMT time.

Suitable for confident beginners and sewing enthusiasts alike, we can also discuss the best ways to go about adjusting these mending techniques to suit different fabric types and damage.

For the workshop you will need:

• a holey t-shirt / pair of leggings / stretchy item of clothing (a small hole is best to start with)
• small scraps of stretchy jersey fabric or an old t-shirt to cut up.
• a fine ball tipped needle or fine cotton darning needle
• thread of a similar weight to your clothing (embroidery thread or sashiko thread work well for these kinds of repairs)
• Cotton thread of a different colour and a general sewing needle or sewing pins depending on whether you choose to baste your fabric patches or pin them into place
• scissors
• a darning disc (or something similar eg. a jam jar lid).
