When it comes to mending denim and woven fabrics, sashiko is a brilliant technique to use. There are endless varieties of beautiful designs rich in Japanese history and if you want to learn more about the designs and their meanings then I’d highly recommend Keiko & Atsushi of A Sashiko Story who are sashiko artisans and generous educators; their videos are fantastic.
When you're ready to start mending your well worn garments, it can be daunting to know where to start with transferring patterns, so I'm really happy to have been able to source these brilliant dissolvable stitching transfers from Wren Bird Arts.
There are a huge variety of designs in several different pattern packs so depending on the area of damage you're looking to mend and the garment in question, there's a pattern for every scenario!
These transfers are so quick and easy to use; no need to draw out your designs with a fabric marker, just stick and stitch! Once you're done you can rinse the transfer paper away and you're good to go.
Details:
• Each design is approx. 10cm X 13cm.
• Instructions for use are included (including a link to video tutorials)
• Each transfer is single use.
